HOW TO NETWORK FOR A JOB AND EMAIL YOUR RESUME

When you send an invitation, do not use a generic message. This is your chance to make a good first impression. Be clear about why it’s worth connecting.

Consider saying that you would be excited to work for the organization and explain why, or that something about the role or someone at the company inspires you.

Here are some pointers to consider:

🤞Read the job post and be sure to include everything that is mandated and preferred while applying. Basically follow the instructions.

🤞You should attach your resume in a PDF, but check the job posting, some employers only accept DOC files.

🤞Add the cover letter to your email body and personalize it.

🤞Try and find the hiring manager’s name and email address to send your resume email directly to them.

🤞Use a strong subject line. Include the name of the position, and years of experience.

🤞Make your email short.  Focus only on your most stellar achievements that are relevant to the job post.

🤞Finish with a call to action. Say that you’re eager to meet in person to discuss how you can contribute to your prospective employer’s success.
