How to fit everything in a 1 or 2 page(s) resume?

One of the most common questions I get as a resume writer is how can I fit everything that I’ve done in the past into a 1 or 2 page(s) resume, it seems like an impossible task, will I be missing out on something important?

This is a common misconception that you need to list all your past job tasks. Instead, focus on the accomplishments that you achieved while performing those tasks.

Tell potential employers how you added value for your current and past employers by helping them make money or save money. That could include finding ways to streamline a process or reduce waste, or establishing procedures that improve service, etc.

Use numbers and percentages to demonstrate your successes whenever you can.

Consider the relevant elements of your previous position in terms of relevancy to the target job; then sell yourself on your resume.
