In the past, the most important characteristic of a career was the level of prestige attached to the job title. Thus, a traditional resume would look like a list of titles and positions giving absolute clarity to recruiters.
The corporate or start-up world today, on the other hand, is often a place where there is a horizontal hierarchy amongst employees and each one adds value individually. The job titles hence are skewed to a point that someone with 1 year can be called a VP but are not in the top management.
Regardless of the titles of your previous jobs, your resume should focus on the scope of impact you’ve had and tangible achievements you’re proud of. Elaborate on responsibilities related to your desired position and write briefly about the outcomes you managed to get for the business.
