RECRUITMENT IS EVOLVING AND SO SHOULD YOUR RESUME

Many companies are pushing for faster, leaner processes across all functions, including recruiting processes. Increasingly, companies are focusing their hiring philosophy on hiring quality employees. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are being used for evaluating candidates in a multidimensional way, testing a candidate’s abilities in technical, functional, behavioral, and cultural aspects. Some companies have even adopted gamified evaluation platforms.

No matter how the resumes are sourced, whether by job portals, social media, or networking/ employee referrals, they must pass the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) filter and automated tests.

Creating a truly diverse workplace can be hampered by bias and companies by automating the initial shortlisting through ATS and AI/ML-based gamified tests, companies are increasingly eliminating human bias in 2022. These steps have no human intervention and recruiters use the ATS to help them follow a data-driven approach eliminating any bias in recruitment.

Therefore, make sure you also evolve your resume to match today’s job market requirements and enable recruiters to identify you in ATS rankings. Although creative resumes look great on paper, fancy formatted resumes fail miserably in an ATS system. Stick to a traditional, plain standard format. You should place more emphasis on the content of your resume than on the design, so use action verbs and keywords that will enable the ATS to identify your resume and score it to the top of the applicant’s list.
