When you send out applications but do not hear back, it’s frustrating and confusing. It’s only natural to be concerned.

?Your resume is not ATS complaint – A chain reaction occurs when you click to submit your job application. To begin with, applicant tracking systems screen your application materials according to specific keywords that measure your fitment. Therefore, it’s important that you use keywords in the job posting on your resume and build it in MS Word format.
?Companies monitor your online activity – The majority of employers screen candidates using social media. Their team reviews your LinkedIn profile, your Facebook page, your tweets on Twitter, your Instagram and Pinterest pictures, and so on. You might not hear back from an employer if you post anything remotely objectionable or against their discrimination policy on any of your social media sites.
?Your resume is not tailored – It’s certainly possible that you think you’re qualified for the job. But a potential employer may view your resume and cover letter differently. For whatever reason, it might be, for example, you lack the necessary experience or have way too much experience, if you lack the mandatory skill, if you aren’t in the same location, or if something as simple as your cover letter or resume has obvious grammatical errors, etc.
Sending applications blindly without reading the entire job posting is an evident oversight you must avoid.
