Recruiters will agree with me when I say that many Résumés come with irrelevant information loads, making it difficult for them to navigate and gather the information they need. If you are lucky, you will get a VERY patient recruiter who is willing to get perplexed and follow the maze, however, chances of that are negligible, an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) will simply reject resumes that don’t contain the text it is searching for. Use The Right & Relevant Sections To Steer Recruiters.
It is always a struggle to figure it out, and here is a guide to the must-have sections on your Resume to make it comply with the (ATS) on an international as well as domestic standards.
?Full Name & Contact Information that has one email address, one phone number (with country code), LinkedIn profile (with optimised URL), location (City, Country) and not your full address, any other link to your work, blog, website, etc.
?A summary that contains your total years of experience, your career summary, your goals, and one biggest achievement or USP that you can show off as a teaser.
?Skills – List all industry-relevant keywords for ATS compliance.
?Work Experience should be neatly formatted with designation, company name, place & dates. Use bullet points to highlight what impact you had on each job, rather than listing your day-to-day activities.
?Include Internships or Trainee roles
?List any hard skills or technical skills and a separate section for attributes if you have space.
?Include Education if you are a junior this comes on top otherwise it can be mentioned towards the end.
?Include Training & certifications, awards, languages, interests, volunteering experience, publications, and projects ensuring you do not cross 2 pages for seniors and 1 page for juniors.
