🦄Myth 1- One-page Resume.
Yes, one page always makes sense if you are fresh out of college or you are a junior but otherwise two-pages are totally accepted and expected out of mid-senior and CXO level people.
🦄Myth 2- Adding everything you know to the resume.
Even though you must explain your work experience and skills, you don’t need to include every single job/skill you have ever held. Consider only those jobs/skills that are relevant to the job position you are applying for, and even then, consider the last 10 years or last two roles.
🦄Myth 3- Hiding career gaps.
Due to the current state of the job market, having gaps in your resume will not be a problem. Include them in your cover letter and explain each one briefly. In addition, volunteering or upskilling during the gap can help you bridge those gaps and improve your resume.
🦄Myth 4- Detailing all your past responsibilities or projects or tasks.
Employers don’t care about every detail of your past employment. No matter what your job position or duties are, all they care about is your contributions that will directly affect their company and the projects/tasks that are relevant to their needs.
