I have learnt that if you know WHY before considering HOW, you could be on your way to success rather than just spinning your wheels. So, let’s learn WHY before we bust some Applicant tracking systems (ATS) myths and dwell on HOW in my next post.
WHY:
➡️ATSs simplify the job posting and application management processes for companies.
➡️Due to the large number of job applications, most companies use it.
➡️ATS collects, parses, and reads resume data so that resumes can be organised/ sort and made searchable.
➡️ATS is used to track candidates’ progress throughout the hiring process.
➡️ATS automates interview scheduling, sends notifications and alerts, and e-mails candidates automatically.
➡️ATS is also used to eliminate irrelevant applicants, rank resumes and recommend the most qualified candidates.
➡️ATS search for keywords or use AI-type algorithms that run a deeper analysis of the job applicant.
➡️ATS is intended to speed up HR’s review of job applications and resumes.
The problem for jobseekers is that if your resume template is not written and formatted with the applicant tracking system in mind, your resume can be easily skipped even if you are well qualified and the right fit candidate.
