No matter how much job seekers dislike it, there is no denying that ATS is a game-changer and here to stay for a long time to come.

As a matter of fact, we are so accustomed to automation that we don’t even realize it’s there half the time. Automation has made recruiting more efficient and streamlined, and most employers wouldn’t be able to imagine doing without it simply because:

↪️The ATS attempts to match the resume to the job description. The machine sifts through the resumes and parses the content for relevant keywords, experience, skills, etc.

↪️The ATS then ranks resumes that are best fits and only those resumes that are formatted in a way that the ATS can “read” are selected.

↪️Resumes are discarded if they are incorrectly formatted, don’t contain enough industry-relevant right keywords, or contain images that cannot be deciphered by the machine.

↪️A recruiter then picks up the top-ranked resumes from the system to process to the next step.
