Using a failure resume to gain positive metamorphosis in your life!

A client recently told me that he is fed up faking it in the corporate world and feels hollow from inside. He is doing just okay in his career, money, family, etc. Yet he feels discouraged, unsatisfied, and unrealistic in his professional & personal life, so what has he been doing wrong.

After dwelling, we realized that he has been celebrating his wins and successes on social media as a repetition compulsion and only successes he has never spoken about his failures and has conveniently become habitual of ignoring that he ever fails.

We have been told sometime in our life to learn from our mistakes! Failure promotes resiliency, creativity, and growth. While we are busy thinking about how things went off track, we are innovating and imagining alternative circumstances, approaches, methods, and how these may result in different outcomes. This opens our minds to possibilities that will hopefully overcome any discouragement you may have been feeling when you thought there was only one possibility.

So here is a small exercise that I gave him to do and has helped him solid:

?Create a Failure Resume by mirroring the format of your accomplishment-based resume.

?Against each success you list, add how many times you failed before you achieved success giving you’re a perspective.

?Organize your failures chronologically and, for each of your failures, try and identify the reasons you did not succeed.

?Be realistic and include items that may make you uncomfortable, don’t skip.
