There have been several posts on LinkedIn and elsewhere complaining about candidates being left stranded and not hearing back from companies about their interview results.
Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to hiring decisions. However, some tell-tale signs indicate whether or not you got the job after the interview. Identify them, and you’ll probably know the hiring decision.
Consider focusing your energy elsewhere if:
💣The interviewer didn’t seem interested in you
💣The interview was cut short
💣The interviewer asked questions that have nothing to do with the job you applied for
💣They pointed out that they were still open to other candidates
💣They didn’t try to “sell” their company to you
💣They still advertise the job after the interview
💣They said you are overqualified
💣They didn’t discuss the role & salary
💣They didn’t give you a specific timeline for the next steps
💣They don’t respond to your follow-up emails or calls
