?Start your Résumé summary with a career title that matches the JD and then back it with your relevant experience filtered and narrowed down to the role applying for.
?Match the required years of experience with the JD, without fibbing, for example, if the JD says 6-8 years and you have 9 years and still want to apply, then write 8+ years of experience instead of 9 years in the Résumé summary.
?ATS algorithms aren’t very different from human algorithms, we’re all kind of skimming for the same things so ensure your Résumé is as relevant to the reader as possible.
?Make sure that the key information from the JD is presented in a manner that is easy to find on your Résumé.
?Use the right keywords as an ATS or a recruiter narrows an applicant pool is by searching for specific keywords, similar to Google search on a much smaller scale.
?Don’t copy-paste the JD, focus on your accomplishments and quantify them wherever possible.
?Don’t use an online Résumé builder, that spits out your Résumé as an image, use only MS Word converted to PDF.
?Finally, keep the language simple, succinct & easy to read.
