Applying Design Thinking Principles to develop a tailored Résumé.

‘Design Thinking’ is the new buzz that’s making rounds in the market that leading universities such as Harvard, Stanford, MIT, etc. have started teaching the approach, and brands such as Apple, Google, GE, Samsung, etc. have embraced quickly.

It’s has a human-centered core and its framework is a 5-step process including EMPATHISING, IDEATION, PROTOTYPING & TESTING. Applying this framework while making your Résumé will build a strong case for why you are a great fit for each job you pursue.

✅ EMPATHISING means understanding who is reading your Résumé, who here means not just the recruiter but also the business head who has mandated this hiring, the HR, the organisation &  the industry.

✅ DEFINITION means getting the root cause of why this role was created and digging deep into the job description.

✅ IDEATION simply means to put 2 and 2 together and make the connection.

✅ PROTOTYPING means stitching it together by creating a focused & cohesive narrative rather than capturing all of your skills and experiences

✅ TESTING means doing a temperature check amongst your acquaintances to check if your Résumé sufficiently answers fitment, its scan-ability, and whether it can be easily summarized.
