Length – Stick to 1 page as much as you can and max 2 pages for senior candidates.
Personal Details – Avoid any personal details DOB, father’s name, age, religion, hobbies, etc.
Start with –Name & Contact details and a punchy summary.
Include your Picture – No (due to the strict privacy laws that protect candidates from discrimination)
Language – American English
Order – Reverse Chronological
Font & Style – Calibri, Arial, Cambria, Times New Roman, size 11, with bolding, caps, and italics.
Other Details – You aren’t required to include references in your US resume, and it is perfectly acceptable to supply them only when an employer requests them. If you are a junior add volunteer experience to help convey your personality. You can also include links to your LinkedIn or social media profiles if you feel they present you in a positive and professional way. Just make sure they are up to date. Add education and highlight those which apply directly to the job. You should tailor the work experience section to meet the requirements of the job you are applying for.
