SHARING LEARNINGS FROM MY ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNEY

After spending close to two decades with corporates as an HR practitioner, I decided to go independent and started Career Faktor last year on the 15 Aug, along with the Indian Independence Day. I was both excited and jittery just as any new entrepreneur would feel, and I would like to share some learnings and highlights with you:

?Understanding what the market needs at that juncture, it was the Pandemic and the jobless mayhem was uproar, my resume writing and career coaching services was the need of the hour that I launched with.

?Bite-sized HR consulting on flexi terms for promising founders of start-ups complemented the economic slowdown that hit the employers last year.

?I realised my passion for identifying problem areas and obsessing over the solution in creating something that fixes the problem.

?I found how precious my comfort in isolation is, working nights alone and doing things that no one else can do.

?Predicting what the future holds became an addictive challenge every day.

?Being consistent in writing helpful content on the social media platform and today crossing 30K followers on LinkedIn

?Embracing the idea of doing the little things and taking baby steps to achieve the big things.

?Reading every day, the more you learn, the more you earn. Consuming content that helps me grow.

?Accepting uncomfortable situations, the more I faced, the more I found situations that resulted in success.

?Responding directly to stingy freeloaders, who expect my services for free or at a bare minimum cost and not respecting my skill and time.

?Not being afraid of getting my hands dirty, playing multiple roles and putting in late hours.

?Exuberating confidence in my ability to deliver value to my clients and not settle for mediocrity.

?My insecurity and failures fuelled my passion for constant development and forced me to work on improvisation.

?Absolutely yearn to connect with people who can challenge my thinking and help me grow.

?Learning more technology to optimise my work output.

?I realised my ability and understood the importance of being able to work from anywhere, anytime.

?I am my own boss and don’t need directions or instructions to move forward.

?Following my calendar and plans to the T helped me architect my day to day activities.

?I started seeing opportunities for new business everywhere I go.

?I am obsessed with research and to stay in touch with the latest in my field.

?Accepting and enjoying change and knowing that it will result into something better.

?Enjoying working hard and playing harder to celebrate this one life that we own.

Well I can go on and on but would close this by saying ‘A side hustle can be the first and biggest step towards writing a new chapter in your life’
